Anna Barlage, Therapist
Anna prides herself on being the kind of therapist who isn’t scared to dive right in and get to work, meeting her clients where they are at and quickly moving them toward relief from suffering. She sees therapy as a blend of both art and science, as she weaves evidenced based practices into a supportive therapeutic relationship with her clients.
Anna has a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary’s University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota and completed the Postpartum Support International’s Perinatal Mood Disorders training in 2017. She is a licensed Mental Health Professional in the state of Minnesota and enjoys treating children, adolescents and adults. She has a wide variety of experience including working on an inpatient mental health unit, providing crisis assessments for children, adolescents and adults, being a program lead in an intensive day program for those with eating disorders and working in an integrative mental health setting.
After having her own children, Anna came to realize her passion in women’s health, wanting to support women throughout their lifespan. She has a special interest in treating anxiety disorders, depression and relationship difficulties as well as working with clients with eating and body image concerns. She finds it an honor to support women throughout their childbearing years with issues including infertility, perinatal and postnatal depression and anxiety, life transitions and loss.
Anna integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness practices and narrative therapy and will be adding EMDR to her skill set in the summer of 2018. When not living her passion as a therapist she is employed full time as the mother of two young children, enjoys doing yoga and spending time outdoors in the sunshine.
