Anna Barlage, Marriage and Family Therapist at SuNu leaning against a wall smilingAnna works with adults and adolescents (ages 16+), and is experienced in treating a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, body image, and eating disorders. She providers both telehealth sessions as well as in-person therapy depending on her clients needs.
Anna has a particular passion for women’s mental health across the lifespan, and is certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International.  She believes it is an honor to support parents throughout their childbearing years with issues including infertility, prenatal and postnatal depression and anxiety, life transitions, and the many ways loss can occur in this time period.
Anna integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) with mindfulness and narrative therapy. One of her goals is to remove barriers and stigma around mental health care. She sees emotional balance and self-understanding as integral to overall health and wellness.
A graduate from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, Anna has Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient mental health, crisis assessment and intensive treatment for adults with eating disorders.
Anna is married and the proud mama to two children and 2 fur babies. She can often be found with her French Bulldog, Bluey, on her lap, loves getting outside as much as possible and watching HGTV.
